COMPOSITION OF DECONTEXTUALIZATION
laser maze
Composition of decontextualization and multiplication of an image
Experimentation on composition by multiplication of a simple image. The original picture loses its meaning, while the significance falls on the global set. Starting from a detail, a shape, a texture... maximum potential is extracted by multiplying it and playing with the generated visual effects of the set.
Editing is undertaken from the iPhone gallery and its basic image editing tool. Compositions are created originally in albums of three or five columns, which are readjusted with more or less rows and columns for their visualization on the web.
You can play with the composition above (laser maze), to test the process I used for this project. By clicking on the tiles and rotating some of them, you can create myriad shape designs.
A game of composition, patterns; colors and shapes
To me the process behind this project started as a hobby; a relaxing and introspection moment. It can be a method for searching new forms, to make unintentional discoveries. Hence, it could become a tool to aid in the creative process of design projects.
One direct application of this technique could be in tile design. The appeal of this is to obtain a unique piece that can connect to itself, creating interesting shapes through simple rotations.
In every composition there is a hidden link to the original picture. If the cursor changes from black to red it means there is something hidden. Go find them!
