Shaping Design
The search for an abstract, ergonomic shape with eye appeal. Each one of these shapes has a symmetry in three axes. Whichever way the piece is placed on a surface, it will always adopt the same shape. It can also pivot on one of its edges, resulting in a shape symmetrical to the initial one
Bold
Shape designed while playing with the wire of a cava bottle cap during a sobretaula. Composed of two symmetric arcs where one is rotated 90 degrees with respect to the other.
Banana
Reconceptualization of Bold with the intention of unifying both arcs into a single form. On side view it resembles a double banana and in perspective, a starfish.
Macarró
The same transformations of the first two shapes, but using two hollow cylinders. The tubes are truncated to form the 90 degree shape. The piece pivots on one of the cylinders.
Tetra 90º
Search of the master and most simplest shape with the same characteristics as Bold. The piece rotates on one of the rounded edges.
Tetra Edge
Inverted Tetra 90º. It works in the same way, but it is only an outline, while the essential edges are highlighted.
Tetra Fold
Its profile looks like Tetra Edge, but it is actually a plane that is folded to create a shape with the same features as the others. On one side, the shape pivots on the folded surface. On the other, it pivots on its edges.
Bold Modular
Modularity and gamification. The arc of every piece is defined with an angle of 120 degrees, such that three pieces combined create a circle. The single unit piece has the same characteristics (symmetry and potential movement) as Bold.
Modular 8 Chain
Chain of eight modules, forming a circle. Linked with magnets to create a strong union with the ability to rotate and generate different structures. This allows for infinite combination possibilities.
Modular Net
Similar to the Modular 8 Chain, but with a snapping ball joint connection that provides a strong union and the possibility of rotation. This gives the structure that resembles a biological movement.
